Why is now a good time to lock in a fixed price?

Industry publications attribute this near-term slide in natural gas prices to a warmer-than-normal winter all over the continent. While short-term prices may be down, natural gas futures remain strong, as shown in the graph below. Much of this has to do with the upcoming Kitimat LNG terminal coming online later this fall. This facility will export a significant portion of our domestic natural gas supply to Asia and other parts of the world.d.
